Canon Camera

CANON 5D MARK IV CAMERA For about 12+ years I have used the Canon 5D Mark II and loved every minute. I have recently upgraded to the Canon 5D Mark IV for better use of the video auto focus functions. It is a game changer to have a touch screen sensor as well. I think I will always be a Canon user over any other company simply because I have invested in L series lenses and know the quality of the products and images they produce.

50mm Lens

CANON 50mm f/1.2L Series Lens This is my nifty fifty! I just this baby on most all of my food photography and lifestyle shots. The Glass is crystal Clear and can get those crisp edges we all strive to capture. It isn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for with this lens. It is considered a prime lens, which means that it doesn’t have zoom capabilityies. Just means you have to move your body to get the shot you desire. You can get a prime lens that isn't an L series for much cheaper. If you're just starting out the Canon 50mm f/1.4 may be a better option since the L series lenses are definitely an investment.

70-200mm lens

CANON 70-200mm f/2.8 L Series Lens This was my first big investment when it came to lenses. However I don't use this as much with food photography as I do for my lifestyle photography. This was primarily used for headshot, portraits and getting those distance shots from far away and zooming in to get that bokeh in the background. You can zoom into a group of people from a distance and get those candid shots at wedding that clients love without being intrusive. It's great!

memory card

SanDisk 64GB Extreme SD Memory Card One of the most important pieces of the camera gear are the memory cards! Shooting RAW can take up more room on your cards because the files are larger, hence why you should get a larger memory card. If you have room in your budget it might even be worth it to buy a couple of these. Having a backup never hurts! To import the files to the computer I use this Lexar USB Reader. It's super easy and works like a charm.

External Hard drive

Western Digital 4T External Hard Drive Talking about having backup, I have 4 of these bad boys that have helped store my photography for the past 10 years. It is crucial to backup your files and keep everything safe and sound. If you have ever lost a set of images from a shoot because you didn't back them up is devastating! So take my advice and don't be that person.

Podia is where I host my Create Curate Course and Private Template Resource Pages for all of my Squarespace website templates. It’s amazing! You can have everything from courses, downloads, webinars and memberships within this platform. I’d choose this platform over Teachable teachable anyday! If you have large video files sizes, you definitely won’t have any troubles uploading on Podia.
